Supreme Court asked Sahara to pay pay 40,000 cr

Supreme Court today finally asked Sahara to pay 40,000 cr to investors or his assets will be auctioned. The Supreme Court today asked SEBI to submit an application to appoint a receiver to auction Sahara group’s property.

When Sahara said he had 1, 85,000 cr worth of property the court asked why he is able to pay a fifth of the wealth and preferred to stay in Jail. Recently his SC grants his bail but he won’t be released without paying money to the investors.

Justice T.S Thakur also told why a man who has so much money would sacrifice his liberty.

Sahara in the past made few failed attempt to generate the money required through selling his off-shore hotels like Plaza in New York and Grosvenor House in London.
